West Wiltshire residents will be shocked to hear that a seven-year-old girl is dying from cancer.
A charity has been set up to raise money for Trowbridge schoolgirl Charlotte Wakeham and the Wiltshire Times has offered its support by accepting money on the family's behalf.
Cancer claims the lives of countless young people, but when someone as young as Charlotte suffers from the disease, life reveals its darkest side.
The unimaginable happened to her parents last week when they were told their little girl was dying from a brain tumour. But the family is refusing to give up, despite being told she only has four months to a year to live.
They are tirelessly searching for any possible treatments so Charlotte can live as long as possible.
To raise money for medication and for a trip to Disneyland Paris, they have set up a charity called Charlotte's Chance of Life Fund.
Generous donations have already flooded in and the family is hoping to raise as much money as possible, not just for Charlotte, but also for other cancer sufferers around the country.
We wish them the success they deserve.
