THEY stand Triffid-like, looming over the overgrown weeds and untamed grassland behind Swindon College.
The surreal streetlights in North Star have been bemusing passers by for months.
No one seems to know why they are there, how they arrived or what they want from us. Even Swindon Council, which is responsible for highways, couldn't come up with an explanation.
But Swindon College has managed to shed light on the mystery.
It says it owns the patch of land where the lights stand, which is earmarked for future development.
