Former Swindon Town forward Paul Hunt will get another chance to join Chippenham Town's ever- growing band of County Ground old boys when the Bluebirds visit Corsham tonight.

The 31-year-old striker was given a 45-minute run out during the Bluebirds' 3-0 friendly win over Calne on Saturday.

Despite a proven track record, Hunt looked someway short of match fitness and failed to shine after coming on at half time.

But Saunders is keen to land a proven goalscorer after Hunt's former Forest Green strike partner Jason Eaton slipped through his fingers and joined rivals Bath recently.

So Hunt will get another opportunity to impress this evening, as he bids to link up with fellow ex-Town stars Gareth Davies and Mark Robinson at Hardenhuish Park.

Davies and Robinson will enjoy their first preseason outings tonight, alongside a squad of 20 made up of established faces, new signings and trialists.

Hosts Corsham will also experiment with playing personnel and the sizable pre-season crowd expected could see more than 40 different players grace the Southbank over the 90 minutes.

Former Chippenham men Jeremy Christopher, Will Halliwell and Frankie Coleman will all make their Corsham debuts to add a little spice to proceedings.

Corsham boss Mark Godley is looking forward to testing himself against Saunders and company, but admits that the main reason for organising the friendly is to give the Screwfix League club a little cash injection.

He said: "Everybody here is really looking forward to the game. My players get to pit themselves against some of the best in the South West. But as much as it's great to play a side like Chippenham, for us it's a revenue making exercise.

"Chippenham should bring a few hundred and that will help boost our finances."
