HAVING watched a Channel 4 TV programme on Tuesday, July 16, entitled Death I was interested to discover that it was about two Swindon gentlemen both suffering from terminal diseases. One with cancer, and the other with chronic heart disease.
What came over very strongly to me was the absolute lack of support for the gentleman with the heart disease, and his long suffering wife who was also unwell.
The following day I picked up a leaflet from the Information Centre in Regent Street which listed Charities and Self-Help groups and again there was nothing listed about anything to help heart disease victims, or their carers.
Is there anything that can be done to highlight the plight of these people? Perhaps to find out what they really need to be able to help them would be a start!
