SALISBURY City Football Club is back in business after winning an extra-time reprieve.

An administration blunder meant their resignation from the Dr Martens League prompted by club officials believing they would not be able to cope with expected losses for the season of almost £100,000 was not accepted.

The mistake allowed a consortium of local businessmen, headed by Neville Beal and Dave Harrold, the opportunity to try and persuade the club's sole director Robert Wike that their survival plan was feasible.

To the joy of their supporters, who turned out in force on Saturday and Mon-day for the club's pre-season friendlies with Yeovil Town and AFC Bourne-mouth, a rescue plan has been accepted and the request to pull out of the league has since been withdrawn.
