THE unsung hero of British sports car manufacture, Westbury-based Marcos Engineering Ltd, has produced a new car in just four months.

Company founder Jem Marsh, who lives in Bradford on Avon, says the Marcasite TS250 combines "the charisma of the traditional Marcos cars with the image and technology of the future".

Crude controls, perspex headlamp covers and walnut dashboard are out; modern electronic controls, sealed headlamps and an anodised engine-turned aluminium dash are in.

The leather interior retains the popular 'racing seat' position with innovative electric adjustable pedals and steering column.

The 2.5V6 engine gives plenty of power and performance and with the battery now stored in the front, the boot has space for luggage, golf clubs and trolley.

Jem Marsh, famous for his contribution to the British motor industry over 40 years, said: "The Marcasite TS250 will provide a thrilling driving experience."

To own one of these gems expect to pay between £35,000 and £40,000.
