I OBJECT most strongly to the idea of the use of the former Railway Museum for illegal immigrants.
I thought the contents of Bath Road Museum were to be transferred to the Faringdon Road building, but it seems Swindon councillors want it to become another Mechanics' Institute.
The Railway Village is one of the few heritage places in Swindon, already marred by the state of the Mechanics' Institute. If the former Wesleyan Church becomes a Third World ghetto it will certainly not enhance the area.
I sincerely hope residents of the area will vehemently protest against this scheme.
