I CONCUR with your leading story on Monday (July 22).

RIAT needs to sort its act out.

I left Eastleaze at 8am and after confronting all styles of driving, from considerate to rude including a touch of road rage, we made the Fairford Red Car Park at 10am.

It then took us a further one hour and 40 minutes to cover the next 200 metres.

People without tickets were directed to the left of the hedge and miraculously re-appeared 50 metres ahead of us, still without tickets.

Traffic had to drive through the queues to get to the car parks!

On finally making the gate I was asked to put my watch and change into a plastic bag. At security, the plastic bag and my rucksack were pushed to the other end of the table nothing was searched, so what was the point?

It seems the organisers had overlooked this bottleneck and I'm sure a lot of people just gave up.

It certainly soured my morning having missed the first two hours of flying.

It seems the organisers are up to every trick possible these days to make money. Most of the best viewing spots were blocked by courtesy or hosting marquees, and we poor folk who'd paid £25 to £30 had to make do with what was left.

All in all, not value for money in my opinion.

I would also like to know what percentage of the entrance fee actually goes to the RAF Benevolent Fund and what happens to the rest?

The traffic system needs sorting, as does the rest of the Swindon system for contingencies.

One accident on the West Swindon roads always attracts chaos.

Please, please start looking at the use of a one way system for such an eventuality.
