PART of Rodbourne is due to close tonight because of essential repairs.
Between 11.30pm on tonight and 6am on Monday, the stretch between Kemble Drive to Church Place will be closed to all traffic.
Diversions run via Great Western Way, Wootton Bassett and Westcott Place.
Swindon Council is using a new process to carry out the repairs, which they promise will be quieter.
In addition, they say the new method will cut down on the amount of new stone that needs to be quarried and transported.
Instead of digging out and replacing new stone, which makes up 94 per cent of the road, the new process simply rejuvenates the bitumen on top - removing the need for noisy disc-cutters and pneumatic drills.
