MEMORIES of Commonweal School are to be rekindled at an open afternoon on Saturday, September 14 to celebrate its 75th anniversary.
The Old Town school was opened on September 5, 1927.
There will be the chance to view some old photographs and memorabilia that the school has assembled and the school is urging people who have played in the school band to come along and join in an impromptu concert.
And, unlike during schooldays when drinking alcohol or illicit food was a one way ticket to the cane, suspension or worse, a bar and refreshments will be available.
