BEING joined in matrimony is a busy affair for both the bride and groom.

As bride Katrina Bennett gets pampered for the big day, groom David McCarron has been kept busy too, especially with his speech.

David, 27, said: "I don't know what I am going to say.

"I need to check with my best man Mike to find out what he is going to do, although I am not too worried about his speech I haven't done that many horrendous things!''

David is looking forward to the big day, and glad to be taking a back seat.

He appreciates that for 25-year-old Katrina, being Bride of the Year has opened many doors.

He said: "Katrina being chosen for Bride of the Year really has been excellent.

"I have spoken to some of my friends and it is the organisation that takes up so much time.

"It is finding the suppliers and getting recommendations off friends and seeing four suit hire shops instead of one.

"This way everything is sorted out for us all the sponsors have been really great. In only a few months everything has come together."

David is also looking forward to the honeymoon in Antigua.

He hopes it will be the perfect blend of activity and relaxation.

"We are going to do some water sports, and have a look around the island."

Before all that, the big day on Saturday is looming on the horizon.

David's bride Katrina will be swept to the Goddard Arms Hotel in a car provided by Dangerfields of Swindon.

Established since 1914, Dangerfields will be supplying one of its fleet of 80 vehicles.

Katrina will be taken from her Old Town home to the Goddard Arms Hotel, to become Mrs McCarron. A sleek black Austin Princess Vanden Plas limousine is the vehicle of choice for this grand occasion.

A reliable chauffeur will ensure that Katrina, our 2002 Bride of the Year, gets there on time.
