THERE is still time for organisations and businesses in the Wiltshire area to take up the challenge of The Queen's Award for Enterprise.

So far 33 organisations in the Swindon and Salisbury area of Wiltshire have applied for details of the 2003 Awards to compete with the best in the country.

The awards are given to businesses for exceptional achievements in international trade, innovation and sustainable development.

David Moore, Queen's Award Secretary, says the awards are good for business and can create growth.

"Many winners find the award is a valuable promotional and marketing tool in both home and overseas markets."

Mr Moore is confident the region will continue to provide more business champions. He said: "Over the years the area has produced many worthy winners"

The closing date for applicants is October 31, 2002, companies are advised to enter as early as possible.
