I would like to thank George Champion for his support in stating the Angel Yard public inquiry was well advertised.

However, the link with my personal parking situation when the inquiry was only concerned with highway safety, is irrelevant.

Mr Champion seems, despite attending the inquiry, to have misunderstood the point.

He does however, make a valid point concerning my buying a house with parking. Life would certainly be easier but unfortunately I cannot afford such a property.

There are a great many discussions about affordable housing issues, as so many services especially those used by the elderly depend on low-paid workers of which I am one.

Only recently a care agency pulled out of Marlborough because they simply could not find staff here.

Hopefully, those of us with lower incomes in the NHS or other fields, are still welcome to live (and park) in the community we serve.

I am surprised Mr Champion does not find more than one parking space for each house on Town Mill is adequate when he is supportive of the Social Housing Scheme in Angel Yard.

This scheme will apparently allow ten flats to be built with only four car parking spaces does a different rule apply maybe?

I certainly do, as Mr Champion suggests, enjoy the River Kennet. In fact I love it so much that I, along with volunteers, get in it several times a year and collect litter from around Town Mill Island for which many residents tell me they are grateful.

Mr Champion is just a little confused I think about all the issues concerning Angel Yard.

However, while he is busy hassling the council for pieces of land to be kerbed and paved to decrease the number of parking spaces still further, at least we cannot accuse him of apathy.
