Fake £5 and £10 notes are flooding into shops in Bowerhill.
Dillons in Blenheim Park and Londis stores and Post Office in Dowding Way have both reported incidents to police.
PC Ann Morris, of Melksham police, said the source of the fake notes is a mystery but customers and shop owners should be vigilant and report any suspicious notes to police.
