My home is in a cul-de-sac and all of the 20-plus residents put their weekly garbage underneath a lamp post.

This post (with a little veer to the left) is in front of my abode.

Some weeks the people who live here start putting their rubbish out Wednesday, the day after the Tuesday morning collection.

What is worse, after the collection, there is an abundance of litter left behind, and when a wind gets up, I get the litter.

My front garden is open plan, and one whould think I was growing empty toilet rolls, sweet wrappers and anything else that is not vegetable! So hey-ho for the new wheely bins which North Wiltshire District Council has introduced to replace the bin bags! It will encourage people to recycle and I will not have to 'weed' (for 'weed', read 'trash') my garden every week. This is the first week I have been weed-free. I'm not holding my breath the wind has a habit of returning.
