THIS was the scene on the Oxford Road last night after a lorry overturned causing mass delays for motorists for four hours.
The driver was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital with head injuries after the 3pm accident near the junction with the A419 in Stratton St Margaret.
Police closed the northbound carriageway of the A420 completely and one lane of the southbound carriageway at 7pm last night to allow the lorry to be removed.
They agreed not to close the road during rush hour because of the severe delays it would cause but drivers still encountered delays.
