HOT-shot Australian striker Royce Brownlie will feature in a Town side bursting with international flavour tomorrow afternoon.

Sporting Gijon may be the foreigners in town but 'buzzing' Andy King's starting line-up will be anything but home-grown.

Brownlie, 21, is currently with Sydney-based Marconi Stallions and broke a scoring record Down Under last year when he hammered eight goals in four matches last season.

That feat attracted the interest of Sheffield Wednesday who expressed an interest in bringing Brownlie to England, an inquiry which was turned down by his club.

Before joining the Stallions Brownlie started his career alongside Danny Invincible at Brisbane Strikers.

Also in the Town starting line-up will be Belgians Steve Barbe, a 23-year-old midfielder, and David Van De Bagen, both of whom played in the 3-0 win at Wantage on Thursday.

King said: "The Sporting Gijon game is another important exercise. I will use the first half to look at these triallists before fielding a more recognised team after the interval.

"Having said that, trying to formulate a side will be difficult. Andy Gurney and Steve Robinson are out and I don't yet know if Danny Invincible will be fit."

Although the Sam Parkin deal has yet to be formally approved by the Football League , there is no disguising the manager's optimism as the season grows ever closer, despite the worrying injury list.

He said: "I can feel a buzz around the place at the moment.

"The last time I felt that buzz, it helped get us out of trouble. This time I am hoping it is something that can help us achieve more than we have up to now.

"Things are going the right way.

"Sam, Stefan (Miglioranzi) and Darren (Dykes) have all settled in well and I feel all are good signings on and off the park."

Despite his satisfaction with the new trio, King is adamant that the search goes on.

He said: "I've openly stated that I want two more players before the Barnsley game and I still feel that way.

"I have put in another four or five phone calls in the last couple of days and I have four or five promises of an answer in the next week."

King feels the extra bodies are necessary, not to make sure he has a side capable of competing, but to ensure he has a squad large enough to cope with injuries.

He said: "I think I am alright to start the season but those two extra faces will get me to where I wanted to be when the season kicks off."
