AGE Concern Swindon has joined the charity's drive to search for the UK's greatest grandparent.
The Grandparent of the Year Award is billed as a chance for grandchildren across the country to celebrate the role of grandparents.
Nominations are being sought and the name of the winner will be announced on December 12 in a ceremony at the Magic Circle club's headquarters in London.
The prize has yet to be announced, but is expected to be worth up to £2,000.
Among the celebrities backing the award is television presenter Davina McCall. She said: "My grandmother is probably the biggest influence on my life. She's barking mad, great fun, and has been the backbone of our family. Grandparents are invaluable."
