LLOYDS TSB has come up with a scheme to ensure the worry-free wedding.
The bank says it realises the perfect wedding day takes months of planning and arranging everything can be expensive.
But most couples fail to realise the true value of what is being kept in the home the wedding dress and accessories can cost £1,000 alone.
Lloyds TSB says its Home Solutions policy will protect all extra items kept in the house due to the wedding.
Cover is free to all those with existing home contents insurance and to those taking out new policies.
The limit on the contents sum insured will be automatically increased by £3,000 for one month before and one month after the wedding of a policyholder or any member of their family with whom they permanently live.
Jon Pain, managing director of Lloyds TSB Insurance, says: "This special extra cover for those getting married gives important protection for any items associated with the wedding that are kept in the house.
"The value of all these things, including gifts, soon adds up."
