THE announcement that B&Q plans a 100,000sq ft superstore on the site of the Barnfield Road depot is good news provided it allows for greatly improved access.
The 250 jobs that will be created are particularly welcome.
But most people are likely to take the company's pledge not to close the present store in Fleming Way with a large pinch of salt.
Its town centre location would be a prime site for housing.
