SWINDON'S Jon Lewis was due to return to the Gloucestershire line-up for the Frizzell County Championship Division Two clash with Durham.
Lewis has recovered from a groin problem and joins Mike Smith (rib) on the comeback trail.
Off-spinner Martyn Ball loses his place to seamer Mark Hardinges despite taking seven wickets in the drawn encounter with Northamptonshire.
"We are expecting a green top at Durham so we won't need two spinners,'' coach John Bracewell said. "I was pretty pleased with the performance last week and I regard it as a winning draw.''
Durham's Dewald Pretorius will make his championship debut after marking his arrival in the country with four wickets in the National League win over Somerset.
