CHARLIE Jarvis is taking time out to help raise money for other cancer sufferers.

She is joining Anna Church in the Brunel Shopping Centre on Saturday to braid as much hair as possible to raise funds for Swindon-based charity Children's Cancer and Leu-kaemia Movemen.

Charlie, five, has been fighting a rare childhood form of the disease Neuroblastoma.

Anna, 35, of Blackstone Avenue in Eldene, is a trainee hairdresser at Gorse Hill's Wild and Beautiful salon.

She said: "When I first read about Charlie's illness in the Evening Advertiser it broke my heart.

"I wanted to do all I could to help her and started collecting money at McDonald's on Great Western Way where I was manager at the time."

Charlie, who is already sporting one of Anna's braids, said: "It's very pretty. My sister Robyn is getting one too."

Charlie's dad, Paul, of Coln Crescent, Greenmeadow, said: "Anna has given us so much support from day one. She is a fantastic lady."

Each hair braid will cost £5, and takes between 10 to 20 minutes to complete.

Anna will be located between Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencer from 8am until 5pm.
