A recent correspondent stated that immigrants provide £25 billion more in taxes than they receive in benefits.
However, although he is strong on unprovable figures, he is apparently unaware that asylum seekers and failed asylum seekers are not allowed to work, and therefore contribute nothing to the economy but are fed, housed and provided with pocket money by the taxpayer.
Most of those who have entered the UK in the last two years are in this category.
This is not a matter of racism, merely a statement of fact. People who enter the UK with the correct papers, with qualifications, and verifiable backgrounds are welcome no matter what their race.
