FORMER dog owner Jo Macleod has made a plea to villagers in Neston to clear up their dog's mess.
Mrs Macleod, of Sheppards, is concerned that the excreta is becoming a dangerous hazard outside the primary school.
"One of the worst places is right outside the school, even though there is a dog bin at the entrance to the field just beyond the school boundary," said Mrs Macleod.
She said parents had to pick their way through a minefield of dog mess in order to get their children to school.
"It is not just on the pavements but also on the grass verges that the children run along," she said.
Mrs Macleod is urging dog owners to take responsibility for their dog's action and respect fellow villagers.
"As a plea to all dog owners from all parents with small children can you please fill your pockets with a few carrier bags and scoop that poop," she said.
She was, however, full of praise however for her neighbour who took the time to clear up after her dog by hosing down the road.
