STEFANI Miglioranzi has signed a one-year deal to extend his stay at the County Ground and promised the Town faithful 'you haven't seen the best of me yet'.

The New Yorker feels his strong religious faith and fierce determination to succeed is a blend geared to improvement.

Miglioranzi has been one of the hits of the season but has existed on a month-to-month contract basis since joining Town in July.

With the ink now fresh on a deal that will keep him at the club until at least June 2004, the 25-year-old is looking for a more settled future.

He said: "I am very happy to have agreed this deal with the club. It is a great bunch of lads and I have enjoyed it here.

"We have had our ups and downs but the spirit has always been good.

"There were difficult times at the start but we had pride in ourselves and a strong will to succeed."

Miglioranzi has netted three goals (including the recent winner at Crewe) and notched up numerous man-of-the-match awards this year but he is not about to rest on his laurels.

He said: "Personally, I feel there is more to come from me. I am always looking to improve my game in every department."

While his colleagues will probably spend the close season getting a tan Miglioranzi will be packing boxes and organising removal vans.

He said: "I have had a few things to sort out with my old house in Portsmouth but I will now be looking to move closer to Swindon."

Being flavour of the month is a far cry from the days where he struggled to get a game at Fratton Park and people were whispering about the so-called state of his knees.

However, Miglioranzi has been one of the first names on Andy King's team sheet and has clearly been robust enough to cope with the more physical nature of the Second Division.

He insists his faith in God has been key to his revival.

He said: "I had doubts, everyone does, but I believe God has been there for me and I'm thankful for that.

"My faith is very important to me, that and the support of my family and friends.

"I'm glad to have sorted the contract out before the end of the current season and I'm looking forward to the next one."
