REFUSE collection teams are making sure the recycling message is getting out loud and clear to the residents of North Wiltshire.
The district council has adorned all 18 of its refuse vehicles with eye-catching signs encouraging householders to do their bit to cut down on the mountain of waste buried in landfill sites every year.
Bright green signs say: "We'd rather be recycling."
They also bear the number of the new recycling hotline, which was set up to give callers information on how they can do their bit.
The new signs are part of the district council's Don't Let North Wiltshire Go To Waste campaign to encourage people to re-use and recycle. Householders are being encouraged to cut back on the amount they throw away each week, and to use the recycling centre instead of the dustbin.
The refuse lorries are seen by thousands of people across the district each week and will be taking the recycling message into every street in the district.
Special information leaflets and posters detailing the district's local recycling centres and facilities have also been produced.
They will be available from a number of locations, including council offices, libraries, information points, and tourist information centres.
