A QUINTET of players from Salisbury Rugby Club have been named in the Dorset & Wiltshire side that travels to Marlow on Saturday for the Tetley's County Shield clash with Buckingham-shire.

Peter Upton, Richard Lang, John Penry, Tim Shipsey and Don Parsons are confirmed in the starting line up with David Bell also named among the reserves.

Sunday sees the Salisbury club stage its annual sevens competition.

Each team will include a mixture of first, colts and vets players who will compete in the round robin knock out contest which starts at 11am.

Later in the day a special match between the present and a past colts team takes centre stage in a memorial match in honour of club stalwart Joe Osmond.

First team scrum half Marcus Olsen said: "This inaugural game is in memory of Joe Osmond who was synonymous with Salisbury Colts.

"The prize will not be a cup, but Joe's walking stick, an accruement he was never without."

Olsen added that he expected the game, which kicks off at 1.30pm, to be a light-hearted affair.

"Looking at the ages and fitness levels of some of the past team, the rate of rolling substitutes will baffle the spectators, let alone the referee."
