COTTRELL Park Golf Club is showing players of all ages and abilities that the secret behind the perfect drive is not to aim for the green, but being green.

The club located in the Vale of Glamorgan is committed not only to a great golfing experience, but also by protecting the environment.

So they have just spent £60,000 on the UK's first Golf Buggy Fleet to run on LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas).

David Johns-Powell, managing director of Cottrell Park, says that the purchase price was nothing compared with the cost of not being environmentally conscious.

He said: "Our two spectacular courses enjoy breathtaking views over Vale of Glamorgan countryside and are set in historic parkland that has taken over 200 hundred years to landscape.

"Members and visitors alike have always relished their Cottrell Park golfing experience and we just want their children and grandchildren to enjoy it too.

"Golfers will notice no discernable difference in their Buggy Drive, but LPG is cheaper than other fuels and less hard on the engine, so we now have 16 golf buggies that are cleaner, greener, cheaper to run and will last longer than ever," he said.

Cottrell Park Golf Club boasts two exciting courses Button and Mackintosh a floodlit driving range and extensive clubhouse facilities, which are open to members and visitors alike.
