SKURRAY'S WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: TROWBRIDGE made a major contribution to this Corsham Print League Cup final, but the Shrewton strike force, led by top marksman Dean Foot showed just why they are worthy league and cup winners.

Trowbridge started well but were behind after just seven minutes, Foot producing an overhead kick from just inside the area that was worthy of a cup final.

Trowbridge fell further behind in the 22nd minute, Foot again the scorer.

Jack Heard controlled the ball well in the 28th minute and hit a good half-volley from 30 yards but the ball dipped just over the crossbar.

Both teams produced more chances before the break and although Trowbridge trailed 2-0 at half time they had deserved better luck.

The game opened up further in the second half, Trowbridge pulling a goal back after 52 minutes, a collision between the Shrewton goalkeeper and a defender allowing Dave Percival possession and he made no mistake.

With Trowbridge pushing forward, Shrewton made it 3-1 on the break when Sean Collins received a pass from the right and scored.

Trowbridge were back in the game after 77 minutes when substitute Andy Bloodworth fed the ball through to Waleed Bakali and the best cross of the day was met by Jack Heard to make it 3-2.

Shrewton then stepped up a gear and Dean Foot completed his hat-trick and Anton Brownless added the fifth.
