BIRTHDAY girl Alison Birchall is celebrating her 40th in style this week.
She flew to New York on Concorde on Sunday, after being given tickets by her husband, Wyatt.
She said: "I had no idea he was planning such a lovely surprise. I am so excited." Mr and Mrs Birchall, who live in Staverton, left for the four-hour flight on Sunday afternoon.
They will spend a week in New York.
Concorde goes out of service in the autumn, after nearly three decades of luxury travel.
