OVER 400 scouts marched through Trowbridge town centre on Sunday in honour of St George's Day.
More than 10 scout troops were represented in the annual march from the park to the United Church.
Scout spokesman Nigel Cullis-Hallworth said: "It all went well. It was an improvement on previous years in all senses."
When the scouts were created by Robert Bade-Powell he said the qualities its members should aspire to were those embodied by St George.
Since then parades have always been held on the Sunday nearest to April 23, St George's Day, to allow scouts to renew their promise.
After the service the youngsters marched back to the park and paraded past the bandstand, where dignitaries including mayor Andrew Bryant had gathered.
