A TROWBRIDGE woman who broke into three holiday homes at the Centre Parcs complex has walked free from court.

Juliet Harvey, of Silver Street, made off with thousands of pounds worth of holidaymakers' property from the chalets after scaling the perimeter fence.

The 24-year-old, who has a string of previous convictions, was caught after a family disturbed her in their villa.

But a judge at Swindon Crown Court decided not to send her to prison, instead imposing an 18-month probation order.

Philip Warren, prosecuting, told the court the first two offences took place in October last year. He said a family had returned to their villa to find cash, credit cards, jewellery and mobile phones missing. On the same day DVDs, a personal CD player, CDs and a Barclaycard were taken from another villa.

The third offence took place two weeks later when the holidaymakers disturbed the intruder.

At an earlier hearing Harvey, of Silver Street, Trowbridge, admitted three counts of burglary.

Tabatha McFarlane, defending, said her client had split from her husband who took their children, then started taking drugs and mixing with the wrong people.
