THE campaign to keep Trowbridge park safe, launched by the Wiltshire Times last week, still needs more supporters.
The Keep Our Park Safe Campaign is encouraging people to come forward with ideas for cutting crime.
Police are still investigating claims that a 14-year-old girl was raped in the park on April 12. A 17-year-old arrested in connection with the attack has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Although attacks of this sort are rare, the park has become a focus for anti-social behaviour and people are afraid to walk through it after dark.
Trowbridge Town Council plans to help tackle the problem by installing two extra CCTV cameras in the park and repositioning another one. Money has also been set aside to provide 50 new and improved lights.
Police patrols will be increased during the busy summer months to try and deter criminals.
