Fairford Town will go in search of three points at the weekend to finish in fifth spot in the Premier Division.

They visit Hook Norton who have also had a good season in their first venture in the Premier Division.

Manager Mark Webb has had one of the worst injury lists ever known at the club over recent weeks, but the side have kept going and won their fair share of games to enable them to finish in the top six.

No doubt the manager will have his eye on the Gloucestershire Senior Trophy final against Yate on Tuesday when he selects his side to visit Hook Norton.

The Cinder Lane boss said: "Obviously the Gloucestershire Trophy final is the one to win so we will probably field our reserve side at Hook Norton and with a bit of luck could be at full strength for the final with Yate."

Yate became runners-up in the Premier Division in midweek when they picked up a point in a 2-2 draw at Tuffley and rivals Carterton Town dropped points when they were held to a draw by Bishops Cleeve.

Purton have been kept busy in Division One West this week.

Victory over Witney United on Monday, Middle Barton Tuesday and a 9-1 win over Adderbury Park on Wednesday has shot them up to third spot in the table. They host Kidlington tomorrow and three points would ensure them the third place behind Slimbridge and Chipping Norton.

It's been a good first season in charge for Alan Clarke and no doubt he would have settled for that spot at the start of the season. However a few poor performances in mid- season forced the manager to bolster his side and they have finished strongly.

Malmesbury Vics visit Ardley United in their last game and will do well to come away with a point from one of the best sides in the section. Shrivenham take on local rivals Cirencester United and earlier in the season a home victory would have been a banker. United, though, could do with three points to make sure they don't finish in the bottom four.
