Motorcyclists can have their riding skills assessed for free on Sunday.

A series of seven Bike Safe seminars will help riders handle their machines safely on Wiltshire's roads this summer.

Some 24 motorcyclists and pillion passengers were killed in the county, and 261 seriously injured, as a result of biking accidents in the last three years.

David Frampton, from the Wiltshire and Swindon road safety partnership, said: "We're particularly keen to reach the 20 to 40 age group.

"These riders are killed or suffer serious injuries far more than any other group."

Police advanced riders will observe and assess how the seminar participants ride.

They will also give a presentation and there will be videos, input on riders' attitudes and certificates of attendance. The course is free but a £10 returnable cheque is needed to book a place.
