DANCE pupils are staging a variety show bursting with routines set to hit songs.

Some 140 students from the Maureen Cockram School of Dance in Wootton Bassett will perform their annual show at the Ridgeway School in Wroughton this weekend.

Children aged between three and 18 will present 40 dances set against songs from hit musicals such as the Sound of Music, Grease and the King and I.

Popular songs such as the Queen number Don't Stop Me Now will accompany some dances.

Kathryn Lawrence, the school principal, said: "The show will cover tap, modern and ballet. It has been very popular in previous years.

"There are still tickets available but they are selling fast. It promises to be a good night. The children are getting quite excited."

The shows take place tomorrow at 2.30pm and 7.30pm and 7.30pm on Sunday. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children and OAPs. Call Kathryn on Swindon 872945 to buy a ticket.
