WOOTTON BASSETT carnival princess attendant Chloe Hack, found her role so exciting last year that she is back again.

Chloe, 10, of Sheppard's Breach, Wootton Bassett, will be attending Princess Sian Millward together with attendant Lauren Groom at this year's Woottton Bassett carnival.

Chloe's mum, Andrea, said: "The selection for the princess and her attendants is all about how confident the children are, and how good they are at talking to people they don't know.

"Chloe is a real chatterbox, and very outgoing, so that's why I think she was selected. She attended the princess last year and had such a wonderful time that she decided to do it again this year.

"It's a lovely job for the children, they go all around the carnival and talk to the different performers and stall holders. They are presented to the mayor and then they get to help judge the carnival floats."

When she is not attending royalty, Chloe is a girl who likes to keep herself busy, and gets involved in the Girl Guides, drama, dance, swimming, running, cricket and guitar lessons.

She also took part in the Wyvern Theatre's production of Bugsy Malone with her school, Longleaze Primary.

Mrs Hack said: "Chloe and her brother James, seven, are always running around doing extra activities, and James will be supporting his sister at the event, again."

The 32nd Wootton Bassett carnival will run from Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 18 and will feature children's fancy dress, a cake competition, music from various local groups and the usual Grand Procession of floats through the High Street on Saturday, May 17.
