PARTYGOERS have finally left Savernake Forest following a three-day illegal rave. More than 800 people gathered for the party, which was organised on the internet and featured five sound stages with DJs playing dance music.

Police have admitted to the The Earl of Cardigan, who owns the 4,500-acre forest near Marlborough and leases much of it to the Forestry Commission, that they had no warning the event was happening. Lord Cardigan said he and his wife were threatened with violence by partygoers as they attempted to stop the event going ahead.
