SALISBURY Rugby Club won the prestigious Lytchett Minster seven-a-side competition on Monday for the first time since 1993.
The club played six gruelling games without defeat before beating Liskeard & Looe in the final 52-19.
A number of the club's players were instrumental in Dorset & Wilts' 38-6 win over Buckinghamshire in their Tetley's County Shield clash last week. They now take on Oxfordshire at Swanage & Wareham's Bestwall Park on Saturday where victory will take them through to the knock-out stages of the competition.
Salisbury registered an impressive 77-7 success against Tilbury RFC during their Easter tour to Eindhoven, Holland. Both forwards and backs scored freely for the club in a fast running game.
