THERE were no surprises in Bradford on Avon where the four Liberal Democrat councillors held on to the town seats.

Cllrs Janet Repton and Sophie Farkas were re-elected in Bradford North while Cllr Fran Lewis continues to represent Bradford South.

The fourth seat, previously held by council stalwart Minna Gillham who has retired, was taken by experienced town councillor Rosemary Brown.

Duncan Hames (Lib Dem) took the Holt seat previously held by Lib Dem councillor Tony Hunter who stepped down.

The Manor Vale seats, which cover Limpley Stoke, Monkton Farleigh, Westwood and Winsley, were retained by Cllrs Bill Viles (Con) and Judith Cunliffe-Jones (Lib Dem).

Tony Phillips (Ind) won the council seat for the new ward of Southwick and Wingfield. He had been one of two councillors for the now deleted Weavers ward since 1983.
