Why did we not celebrate Tax Freedom Day this year?
June 2 was the first day after which all we earn will go into our own pockets. Up until then the Government has taken by taxes of some sort all of our earnings.
So June 2 was a 'Hurrah Day' for all taxpayers. Yes I know it gets later every year and it was May 26 in 1997 when Gordon and Tony took over but some people did tell us that it would get later as the "Years of stealthy financing" proceeded. However, history does repeat itself doesn't it!
