WILTSHIRE will be without their leading batsman and bowler when they travel to play Cornwall at Camborne in their Minor Counties Championship match on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

They are forced to make two changes to the side which beat Oxfordshire as Richard Illingworth and Steve Perrin are both unavailable. They are replaced by James Hibberd and Jamie Glasson. Kevin Blackburn who was forced to withdraw from the match against Oxfordshire with a fractured thumb is still unfit.

Former England spinner Richard Illingworth misses the game because of umpiring commitments and Perrin misses the game because of his football commitments with Forest Green Rovers.

Both players made major contributions in Wiltshire's victory over Oxfordshire in their last game, Illingworth taking seven wickets and Perrin scoring an unbeaten century

Victory would maintain Wiltshire's chances of lifting the Minor Counties championship for the first time since the early years of the last century.

Cornwall presently lead the western division with 57 points from four matches. Wiltshire are second with 55 points from three games, Berkshire third with 54 points from three matches.

Wiltshire captain Russell Rowe admits the loss of Illingworth and Perrin is a "substantial blow," but believes his team can still beat Cornwall.

He said: "One of the key reasons for our good season has been the experience of Richard Illingworth. He has made a massive contribution both with the bat and the ball and we are obviously going to miss him in what is a very important match for us.

"We have brought in James Hibberd as a replacement and we are sure that he won't let us down. He has played for Hampshire seconds and they are considering offering him a contract so he is a strong replacement."

Rowe added: "It's a pity that Steve can't play as he had just found his form but we have a more than adequate replacement. Jamie Glasson has always performed well for us when he has played and he is looking forward to his opportunity.

"We will just have to produce a strong all-round performance and produce a good batting display to counteract the blow of losing Illingworth."

He said: "If we can avoid defeat against Cornwall and then against third placed Berkshire, a victory in our last match against Dorset could well be enough to clinch it.
