POLICE have released CCTV pictures of two women wanted in connection with a theft from a pensioner in a Chippenham supermarket.
The prints show the two suspects entering Somerfield supermarket on May 20.
The victim, who was inside the store shopping between 12.45pm and 13.45pm, said she first went to the cigarette counter and bought some cigarettes with cash, before continuing with her shopping.
While in the aisle by the kitchen towels, she was approached by woman with dark hair who asked her questions about the types of kitchen towel on sale.
Distracted, she left her trolley momentarily to look at the towels.
In her trolley was a bag containing her purse and £200 of pension money, as well as a bank card.
While her back was turned, a fair-haired woman approached from the other end of the aisle and removed the purse and took the trolley.
She then left the store and dumped the shopping trolley and empty bag by Peacocks, before meeting up with her accomplice in the Emery Gate shopping centre.
The fair-haired woman was wearing white trainers, grey trousers and a long-sleeved pink top. Her hair was tied back.
The second woman was wearing dark trousers and a dark coloured coat with a light coloured stripe running from arm to arm across the back. Her hair was held up by a light clip.
Anyone who recognises the women, or who may have seen them together in Somerfield, is asked to contact Chippenham police on (01249) 654455.
