STEVE MILDENHALL'S nightmares about Sam Parkin may have stopped but the former Town favourite knows Tommy Mooney has the potential to cause him more sleepless nights.

The 25-year-old keeper is a great admirer of Town's new striker and admits he is a serious threat to hopes of a clean sheet.

However, having conceded six goals in his last two visits to the County Ground, Mildenhall is determined to dampen Mooney 'mania' just a touch.

Notts County have endured a poor start to the season and occupy bottom spot after two matches.

Mildenhall, who left Town for the Magpies in the summer of 2001, has yet to taste victory against his old club.

A 5-0 defeat at the County Ground last season was particularly painful as were the barrage of text messages he received from former colleagues after the match.

He is in no mood for a repeat performance.

Mildenhall said: "I knew Sam Parkin had been getting goals for Swindon but I hadn't bargained on him scoring a hat-trick.

"I had backache from picking the ball out of the net."

However, Mildenhall knows there are now two strikers with every intention of making his life a misery.

He said: "Tommy Mooney is an experienced player, who has scored goals at a number of clubs.

"When he joined in the summer, I thought to myself that it was a good signing for Swindon.

"I just don't want him or Parkin giving me more backache!"

Although Notts County are determined to avenge last season's defeat, Mildenhall admits the players have talked among themselves about Swindon's prospects for the season.

He said: "I mentioned the other day that the next match was Swindon away and the talk was that they had a decent side and could do very well this year.

"I think a play-off place is a realistic target."

He may be predicting a good season for Town but only after Saturday's match.

"We need to get points on the board quickly and where better to record your first win than at the County Ground?

"I love playing at Swindon and I

always will.

"I'm sure the banter from the Town fans will be flowing as usual. I'll just have to make sure they've nothing to give me stick about at full time.

"If we (County) do win, I won't even get the chance to enjoy it in Swindon, as it's straight back to Nottingham to prepare for our Bank Holiday game against Peterborough.

"Should the result go against us then it's fair to say I'll be switching my mobile phone off to stop any abusive text messages getting through."

Tickets for the match at Bournemouth on Monday are selling well, and County Ground officials were expecting to have sold the 1,337 allocation by close of business today.
