THOSE who enjoy looking at buildings will have a unique opportunity to attend a course called Understanding Architecture in Malmesbury this autumn, when the University of Bath in Swindon runs its first part-time evening course at the library.
The university, already firmly established in Swindon and offering 150 courses this coming term at its Oakfield campus, is now looking to provide courses in nearby towns.
Clive Stephens, the university's director of lifelong learning said: " The university is committed to providing enjoyable, relevant and accessible learning opportunities in Swindon and Wiltshire and we are planning, subject to demand, to offer courses in a number of key locations of which Malmesbury is the first.''
The course, illustrated by a huge collection of architectural photographs, is taught by former Bristol University tutor Barry Loxston and runs for ten weekly sessions starting on October 2 at 7pm.
Full details and enrolment information can be obtained on (01793) 328800. Prospectuses are also available at Malmesbury Library.
