Having attended the council's public meeting on transport yesterday, I'm pleased that so many people came to give the council officers and members their views.
It was very clear that the residents have not felt in the past that they have been listened to by either council officers or their previously elected councillors, and I for one would agree. I'm pleased to stand up for the residents in Covingham, Nythe and Coleview as one of their elected representatives and I feel that's my duty.
I believe the traffic calming measures should be modified or replaced with something that is more suitable and less aggressive.
I'd like to remind people that there is a dedicated public meeting on September 4 at 5.15pm in the Civic Offices for this matter. I hope that as many people as possible from the area will be able to attend.
