WITH reference to your feature on parking wardens for the Swindon area, starting in September,

I spent an entire afternoon last week trying to find out what the arrangements are going to be for, trades people and workers who need to work from their vehicles.

As these vehicles are usually fitted out, and carry everything they need, it would not be practical or safe to have them parked miles away or down the road in a car park, which probably has a height restriction bar.

I was contacted by Tony Foss. He outlined the intention that, 'All trades people doing planned work can apply for dispensation, up to the day before. All emergency workers should put a notice in their vehicle stating where they are working, so that the wardens can check them out, if necessary.'

Now all of this seems quite fair, so I will see how it works in practice. If the wardens grow little horns, I have a plan with a few mates that will stop the town traffic and cause mayhem for the whole day, and with horns blaring, no one in the Civic Offices will be able to work either.

I think most people agree the need for a few parking wardens around the Town Hall area, even if to allow the disabled to get to their places and delivery drivers who must park somewhere.

However, softly softly please or my cunning plan will be working.

As for Leslie Hatchers suggestion that Mr Bawden and his cronies are a bunch of Hitlers, I am sorry Les but that post is reserved for Kevin Small and Sue Bates, the band of robbers who stole £40 million from us all, for a pension. Which will never give anyone the pension they think they need as the funds are constantly being robbed and the goal posts moved, by inefficient pension fund managers.

The first person I spoke to was the 'mini Hitler' whose job was worth much more than it was to explain anything. It emerged that she didn't know anything as she hasn't been told what the policy was or even if there was one.

Well done, Ms Mackenzie, our new person in charge of parking. When you have been here as long as me you'll then know where Park South is and Commercial Road, then when someone rings up and mentions an area in the town you can speak with knowledge.

Next the deputy leader of the council, who is looking after us all whilst the boss is on holiday. I asked him what will be the policy regarding trades peoples etc. 'I don't know but I'll find out,' he said. Sounds promising so I waited.
