PURTON boss Alan Clark is confident of getting a result in the game of the day in Division One West of the Hellenic League.

His side currently lead the way and a favourable result against third-placed Ardley will help move the Red House side clear of the pack.

"It won't be easy, but we're confident of getting a result," said Clark.

"Ardley are always there or thereabouts but the table is starting to take shape and every three points will take us away from the rest."

Clark's squad has a clean bill of health and influential captain Martin Thompson is set to return to the starting line up after his holiday.

Meanwhile, Shrivenham boss Alan Dyton has something of an injury crisis ahead of the visit of Quarry Nomads.

Carl Watkins has torn a hamstring and is definitely ruled out, while Mark Peters and Richard Tilling are also doubtful and Tom Jones remains unfit.

Doug Imrie is at a wedding, but Vinny Parker and Neil Sutton return while Andy Rainer could feature for the first time this season.

Despite having a depleted squad, Dyton expects his side to match the Nomads' youthful vigour.

"They are a good young side that are very mobile with all the tricks,"he said.

"Hopefully we'll match them in that department and it will be a good open game of football."

Malmesbury Vics are also struggling with injuries ahead of the visit of Ross.

Chris Minturn (toe), Andy Mitchell (knee) and Ryan Trowbridge (groin) are all doubtful.

Elsewhere, struggling Cirencester United visit Easington.
