I WAS disappointed to read Mrs Fell's recent letter criticising the Forest Festival, organised by the Great Western Community Forest.
The festival is the main event held in Swindon promoting awareness of the value of trees, woodland and the environment. It provides an opportunity for everyone to learn more about their surroundings through demonstrations, exhibitions and activities.
We are fortunate that the event is valued in such esteem by Nationwide, which has provided sponsorship for the past four years. This year we also received support from South Western Arts.
The Great Western Community Forest is very much a partnership, which is why organisations such as the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and the National Trust are delighted to participate.
More than 5,000 people enjoyed this year's Forest Festival.
So, Mrs Fell, if you haven't come along before, why not join the others who attend and discover why so many people find it a thoroughly excellent and worthwhile day out.
