Enthusiasts flocked to the town's central car park see more than 100 vehicles at the Warminster and West Wiltshire Vintage Bus Running Day.

Honorary president Bob Eade, who drove a double decker and single decker bus, said it was the most successful day in the event's 10-year history.

"I have never seen Warminster seething with so many people," he said.

"It has a big enthusiast following but there were also lots of mums, dads and children."

The event, which started with two vintage buses in 1994, offers people the chance to step back in time and take a free ride on the vehicles.

Routes cover towns, villages and places of interest in west Wiltshire including Trowbridge, Salisbury and Stonehenge.

Mr Eade said: "The main objective is to give everyone a fun day out.

"We have always been lucky with the weather which is a real bonus."

Proceeds from the day will be donated to the Guide Dogs for the Blind charity.
